Five months late, I’ve just about pulled myself together enough to write about seeing Bruce Springsteen in Florence. Last week I arranged a convenient 4pm meeting in town, and when it finished I hotfooted my way over to Charlotte Street to get in the queue for Bubbledogs, a newish hot dog and champagne bar causing a bit of a stir in London. Something quite remarkable happened to me a few weeks ago. I was doing the usual, moaning about the weather whilst peering out the window. Then, something far more interesting than the weather caught my eye. Something very interesting indeed. Finding other Bruce fans is such a treat, but when you find people who are both burger and Bruce lovers – well that’s even better! Not long ago I wrote about one of the hottest burgers on Manchester’s burger scene, Almost Famous. On the same weekend I went on a bit of a burger tour and the next place I tried was SoLITA – a newish restaurant South of Little Italy in Manchester’s Northern Quarter (hence the name). I’m still very much suffering the Bruce Blues, I have come to reluctantly accept the fact that as a Bruce Springsteen lover, I’ve had a pretty good run of it this Summer.
